Privacy Policy

What we collect

• No account needed. You can use PlaneSane without signing up or providing personal information.
• Your search inputs — for flights, your origin, destination, dates, and cabin; for hotels, the destination city or area, any hotel name you search, and any check-in/check-out dates — which we use to look up and score flights and hotels.
• Basic technical data — such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps — logged by our hosting providers for security and reliability.

Cookies

Beyond cookies essential to operating the site, we use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure visits from our ads and for remarketing (see “Advertising measurement” below), which sets cookies or similar identifiers. We do not currently display ads on the site. Where required (for example, for visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), we obtain consent before non-essential cookies are used, and we will update this policy as our advertising and analytics change.

Booking links & affiliate partners

When you choose to book, PlaneSane links you out to Google Flights, prefilled with your route and dates. We do not earn a commission on those bookings, and we use Google Flights because it is the same source our scores are built from — so you land on the flight we actually scored.

Alongside it we show a “Compare fares” link to Aviasales, a travel search partner, and we may earn a commission if you book there. That link carries an affiliate identifier so the partner can attribute the visit, and the partner may set its own cookies once you arrive. It searches your route and dates rather than a specific flight, because the partner sells different inventory than we score — which is also why it is offered as a comparison and never as the way to book what we recommended. A commission never affects a score, a ranking, or which flight we call the best.

Using either link is entirely optional; reliability scores, times, fares, and weather are available without them. Each destination is governed by its own privacy policy.

Advertising measurement

We promote PlaneSane through ads on Meta (Facebook and Instagram). To measure how those campaigns perform and to show relevant follow-up ads, we use the Meta Pixel, which loads Meta’s script and may set cookies or similar identifiers and report page views to Meta. You can control ad personalization in your Facebook and Instagram settings, and opt out of interest-based advertising at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu. Where consent is required (for example, for visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), we obtain it before non-essential cookies are used.

How we use information

We use your search inputs to fetch flight options and compute scores, and we use technical data to operate, secure, and improve the service. We do not sell your information.

Service providers we rely on

To return results, we share only what is necessary (for example, a route and date) with third-party services: cloud hosting and database providers, flight schedule and fare data providers, and an AI provider used to generate plain-language explanations. Aggregated historical data comes from certified, licensed, and authoritative public sources.

Data retention

Search results may be cached briefly to improve speed. We do not maintain personal profiles tied to you. If we add accounts or alerts in the future, this policy will be updated to describe that data.

Your choices & data deletion

Because PlaneSane has no accounts, we don’t maintain a personal profile to manage. You can reset your advertising identifier at any time in your device or browser settings, and (in the app) location is used only when you tap “Use my location” to find your nearest airport. To request deletion of any information you’ve sent us — for example, feedback you submitted in the app — email hello@planesane.com and we’ll remove it.

Booking & referral partners

PlaneSane is advisory — we don’t sell flights or hotel rooms. When you tap a “book” link, you leave PlaneSane and are handed off to a third-party booking partner (for flights, our flight-booking affiliate; for hotels, Stay22, which routes to hotel booking sites). Those partners have their own privacy policies that govern what they collect once you arrive. Our outbound links may include a non-personal referral code so we can be credited for the visit — this never changes a score or ranking, and we don’t receive your booking or payment details.

Children

PlaneSane is not directed to children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time; the “last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
